Day of Action: What Would Seniors Do Without Caregivers?

This event is an in-person Day of Action in which caregivers will participate with seniors and advocates to have our voices heard. We will visit legislators' offices and on the floor to talk with them about the need for data on the direct care workforce as well as higher Personal Care Services reimbursement rates so that caregivers may be better paid.

Join us for the "Day of Action: What Would Seniors Do Without Caregivers?" on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm MT at the State Capitol.

If you participated in the Caregiver Day of Action earlier this month, you know that the choice of whether to age in place is at risk: the number of older adults in need of caregiving services is growing rapidly, and we are facing a nationwide shortage of caregivers.

New Mexico’s caregiver funding system is not prepared to meet these needs. Our state system lacks the investments required to maintain and grow the caregiver workforce to ensure that direct caregivers and family caregivers receive the wages and resources they deserve.

We want you to join us for the "Day of Action: What Would Seniors Do Without Caregivers?" on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm MT at the State Capitol to advocate for the bills that New Mexico caregivers are leading.
