The American Cancer Society is an informational website designed to support people caring for someone with cancer. It brings together guidance, tools, and support in one place to help caregivers understand their role and find reliable help when they need it. It provided comfort, education, and connection during difficult times. 

What they offer: They have a collection of caregiving training videos that show you how to handle physical tasks and manage side effects at home. They also offer the “ACS CARES” app, which is like a personal assistant for finding local rides, groceries, or places to stay during treatment. 

This foundation understands that a cancer diagnosis affects your whole life, not just your health.  They focus on the “logistics of living,” like a drive to an appointment or where the next bag of groceries is coming from. They make sure that money trouble never stands in the way of someone getting their treatment.  

What they offer: They provide weekly “together” groups over Zoom so caregivers can talk and find strength in a community that understands. They also offer a grief support group, available both in person and online, for those who have lost a loved one and need help navigating that journey. 

A local group of doctors, health workers, and community leaders teamed up to make cancer care better across the state of New Mexico. They focus on making sure that no matter where you live in New Mexico, whether you are in a big city or a small town, you can get the treatments and the support you need. 

What they offer: They provide a directory with a list of local support groups, clinics, and financial help across New Mexico 

The National Cancer Institute is a big government program, and its main goal is to make sure families have the right information. They do research, and they turn it into simple guides that help you understand what is happening and how to keep going when things get tough. 

What they offer: They provide handbooks that walk you through the day-to-day challenges of being a caregiver. Parents can also find specific advice on how to look after their children and keep the whole family steady while a child is in treatment.

Assisted living communities in New Mexico were formally referred to as adult residential care facilities by the state.
